    Cisco's TelePresence Technology is awesome!

Cisco is changing the face of online virtual meetings with the development of there TelePresence technology. It is like something out of a sci-fi movie. What it basically does is project life-size images of people into meeting rooms allowing face to face conversations and viewing of data and objects. Half of the meeting table is real and the other half is projected from the remote location. The new technology is said to be a huge improvement on existing technology by being much more reliable, simpler, and providing far better quality. The viewing quality sounds awesome, allowing the rendering of even the slightest change in facial expressions.

The new systems can offer companies advantages such as reduced travel time, fast reliable transfers of data for speedy decision making, and a tremendous reduction in travel expenses for companies in the global market. The technology is also being credited as environmentally friendly for reducing CO2 emissions.

At $299,000 for a six seat system which includes the table and chairs it is out of range for all but the largest companies. The advantages it provides make it well worth a look into though for any company who may save on travel expenses by implementing it. Governments around the world may also benefit greatly from this technology.

For something like that I would simply implement a web cam and some sort of VOIP solution like TeamSpeak or Vent, considering Cisco's price tag of around 300k.

Well, this seems to be one more advancement in the information technology. It will greatly reduce cost for the companies, though price of it's implementation is very high. But benefits are there. Cisco may have improved it beyond six seat system.

    wow! i'm like... WOW!

technology is advancing so damn fast!

It would only be necessary for the larger companies though wouldn't it? I mean, who would want that in their lounge? (I mean apart from me )
